VOLVO CHINA OPEN 2008 - QUALIFYING

The Harbour Plaza Golf Club Dongguan has been selected for the third consecutive year as the venue for the Volvo China Open 2008 Qualifying Tournament.This is again a great honour for the Club, as there are only a total of four Qualifying Tournaments hosted at four different venues in China : Hong Kong, Dongguan (Southern China), Shanghai (Central China) and Beijing (Northern China).The Mainland China events are open to all male and female golfers from the whole country.Four leading gross score golfers from Hong Kong SAR and three leading gross score golfers from each Mainland venue will win the right to proceed to the Main Tournament at the Beijing CBD International Golf Club, which will be held from 17th to 20th April, 2008.

According to Mr. Alistair Polson, Executive Director of the Volvo China Open, this year each Qualifying Tournament in the Mainland has been allocated RMB$225,000 in prize money.Same as last year's event, the leading amateur golfer will also receive a beautiful Waterford Crystal Trophy.

On 11th and 12th March, the Valley Course (Hole No. 10 - Hole 18) and Lychee Course (Hole No. 19 - Hole No. 27) will be closed during the Tournament.Courses will be opened one hour after the last flight tee off (anticipated to be approximately 1:00pm).

Members are more than welcome to watch the Tournament being staged at our Club.

Southern China : Dongguan Harbour Plaza Golf Club, 10th to 12th March, 2008

Central China : Shanghai Silport Golf Club, 24th to 26th March, 2008

Northern China : Beijing Honghua International Golf Club, 31st March Northern China : to 2nd April, 2008
